 NEW RETAIL STORE PROGRESS: Our new retail store build is nearly complete. The 750 gallon reef display tank, a 750 gallon freshwater stingray display tank, and an eight by four foot LPS/Softie tank arrived on Wednesday 7-21-10. We are now staffed during our normal hours of Noon to 8 pm Monday thru Saturday and Noon to 5 pm on Sundays while we complete the final projects in the store. Feel free to stop by and see how it looks! Some things still to come are new outdoor signs (possible coming today, 7-23-10), a new awning, a flower planter out front, new exterior lights, and more colors of exterior paint. Other tanks such as the eight by two foot SPS tank are at the BashSea shop awaiting me to pick them up. Our four by three and half foot frag tank is up and running and will get some nice coral in it next week while we work on the other coral tanks. The 1000 gallon medicated fish system and the 400 gallon non medicated fish/invert system are running and have some livestock in them now too. We want to thank BASHSEA for the expert building of the monster tanks and filtration for the store. This stuff works great! We will have a full line of their products here soon (we already have some of the skimmers and reactors). You've got to check them out! Bashsea Tanks and Filters: Both 750 gallon tanks, the eight by four foot LPS/Softie Tank, and the eight by two foot SPS tank are all being built locally by BASHSEA. They are the guys that built the mega filtration system that was in our old store (and is being used on the 1000 gallon fish system in our new store). They are also handling the filtration on all the saltwater systems including refugiums, protein skimmers, bio-reactors, media reactors, calcium reactors, etc. We are using their Bashsea line of Mad-Flo Pumps to run all of the main filtration on most of the large saltwater systems. Applications requiring smaller pumps are being handled with Hy-Drives and Mag-Drives by Danner Mfg. If you live in the Detroit area, come visit our retail store (address is listed at the top of this page). We have a large selection of dry goods (expanding weekly) and we also carry saltwater livestock and freshwater rays. We don't stock every item listed online at the store, but most can be brought in within 7 days. Almost every item on the site can be ordered and picked up at the store with out paying shipping fees. The only exceptions are acrylic tanks and extremely heavy or bulky items (such as 72" light fixtures). If you're looking for something specific, give us a call (877-692-8552); we'll let you know if it's in stock or how long it would take to bring in. Don't see what you need online?
